Home and School Collaboration Create Successful Student Learners

Elementary School Counselors are Masters level specialists in counseling  with specific skills in working with children. I hold a K-12 certificate in School Counseling.  My background also includes a Master's Degree in Psychology.
Elementary School Counselors are available to  assist  in the development of your child's academic,  social, and  emotional success. Children receive services from the school counselor in a variety of settings depending on the individual needs of the child.  These settings include: classroom, small group and individual meeting times.  Services provided to children may include the development of the following skills: problem solving, communication, appropriate behavior patterns, and  the encouragement of new interests.

Your support and input is an essential part of the school counseling program! Consultation with teachers, parents, and other professionals is an essential part of the school counseling program. Collateral work with agencies outside of school is a component of a school counseling program when necessary.

I can be accessed by: calling me at school, contacting your child's teacher,
sending me an email at: dmansfield@sad55.org, or writing me a note sent to school in your child's homework folder.
