Sacopee Valley Middle School
April 11, 2007

Spring has finally arrived.  I can finally see out of my office window!  For the last several weeks, I have looked out only to see a large white wall of snow.  As the warmer weather arrives, we have many exciting field trips and other activities planned.  Stay tuned for more information regarding these events.
 
I would like to take this opportunity to welcome a few new staff members.  Erin Geyer began last week as our school secretary.  She is a graduate of MSAD 55, and has most recently been working with the Portland Press Herald's online division, MaineToday.com.  The second staff member I would like to welcome is Scot Goodwin.  Scot has been working in the Middle School for the last couple of months as an Educational Technician, but will soon be taking over some teaching responsibilities.  This change is occurring to allow Mr. Lane to assist in the office area as a Teacher Leader.  Finally, I would like to welcome Suzanne Gosselin, who joins us as a Special Education Social Worker.  

We are in the process of finalizing our end of the year plans here at the Middle School.  These plans will include a formal assembly for students, parents, grandparents, family members, and the community.   We will also soon be working on student placement for the next school year.  This work can not be finalized until a district budget is adopted, and we know the status of potential staff cuts.  Stay tuned to future newsletters for more information.
