Adult and Community Education Instructor
Part Time
(12 hours per week for 41 weeks)
Description: The Adult and Community Education Instructor’s primary responsibility is to deliver instructional services to adult learners at M.S.A.D. #55 Adult & Community Education (ACE) program.
  • Administers a variety of assessments, including pre and post tests
  • Designs Individual Educational Plans (IEP)
  • Evaluates curricular materials
  • Instructs reading, writing, social studies, science, and math to students on both individual and group bases
  • Collaborates and team teaches with colleagues
  • Maintains students’ files
  • Conducts student follow-up procedures
  • Completes coursework required to maintain certification
  • Provides vocational guidance and education counseling

Requirements: The Adult and Community Education Instructor shall hold a minimum of a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution. The instructor must also hold an instructional 100 and a 200, 300, 350, or 395 certificates to meet State of Maine certification requirements or be provisionally certifiable. Past adult education instructional experience and vocational guidance experience preferred.

All Coaches and Volunteers must submit an application and must be fingerprinted.
All High School Coaches must also pass a Coaching Principles Course (or its equivalent) and be currently certified in First Aid, CPR and AED
