MSAD #55 Budget Meetings

BUDGET INFORMATIONAL MEETING
Wednesday, May 7^th
7:00 P.M. at Sacopee Valley Middle School

This is an opportunity for the citizens to ask questions about the 2008-09 budget or about the new budget validation process that will be used as directed by the State of Maine.

DISTRICT BUDGET MEETING
Monday, May 19^th
7:00 P.M. at Sacopee Valley Middle School

As directed by state law the budget adopted by the Board will be presented at the public meeting and voted on by article.

DISTRICT REFERENDUM
Thursday, May 22^nd
4:00 - 8:00 P.M.

If the budget is approved at the public meeting on the 19^th a district referendum vote will be held on May 22^nd. The polls will be open in each municipality from 4:00 - 8:00 P.M. The ballot will simply ask whether or not voters approve the school budget adopted at the district budget meeting on the 19^th. No dollar amounts will be on the ballot. The dollar amounts approved at the budget meeting will be posted at each polling site.

Dear Citizens of M.S.A.D. #55,

This year the budget process has been one of the most challenging that our district has experienced in many years. The state and the federal governments have reduced the amount of financial support to local schools. Schools across the state are getting hit with funding cuts because of a projected shortfall in Maine’s budget. The cause for decreased funding more.....

Where: South Hiram Elementary

When: June 1st, 2008 @ 8:00a.m.

Set up will start @ 6:00a.m.

We are looking for sophomore parents and students to help get donations for the Sacopee Valley Car Show.
We are also looking for people to help the day of the car show!

m Is your family living in the town of Baldwin, Cornish, Hiram, Parsonsfield, or Porter?

Please come to the Superintendent’s Office at the Sacopee Valley Middle School, 137 South Hiram Road, Hiram, ME 04041 to register your child. Please bring your child’s immunization records, a certified state birth certificate, and the name of the previous school.
