School Rules

We believe that discipline involves guiding students to make wise decisions regarding their behavior towards peers and adults in our school community.  Teachers encourage and lead students to follow rules and directions, to develop good work habits, to respect others and to understand the reasons for doing so.  Our rules are for the safety and welfare of everyone in our school.  Specific rules are:

  1. Be respectful to all staff and students.
  2. School is a safe place for everyone.  Physical aggression and unsafe activities are unacceptable and will not be tolerated.
  3. Appropriate language will be used at all times.  Students are to refrain from all profanity and vulgarity.
  4. Students will walk inside the school building.
  5. Dangerous articles such as weapons, knives, scissors, and chains are not allowed in school.
  6. Students should not bring skateboards/roller blades or toys to school

Playground Rules

The playground is a safe place for students to exercise and play.  The following rules apply at all times.

  1. Children will play safely at all times!
  2. Fighting is unacceptable and will not be allowed.
  3. During recess, students are to remain outside and not reenter the school building unless they have permission from the teacher on duty.
  4. At the end recess, students are to line up quickly and quietly.
  5. Only balls are to be thrown on the playground.
  6. Students are to sit appropriately on the swings and slides.
  7. Students are to play away from the doorways and windows.
  8. Students may go outside the fence to retrieve a ball only after a teacher has given permission.
  9. Students are to treat school property with respect at all times.

If a student breaks a rule, appropriate disciplinary action will be taken by the teacher on duty.

We will have indoor recess if the weather prevents us from going outside.
