Word Study

We are using a word study program that is called Words Their Way.  It is based on the idea that students can learn spelling rules by exploring patterns.

Students are assessed on spelling rules that they already know.  The students are then put into groups so that we can address the rules that they need to learn.  Students are reassessed at the beginning of each trimester to assess their needs.  
 

There are specific words that students need to know at each grade level.  Periodically check your child's progress on these words.
