do when they are reading.
Before Reading

6. Set a purpose of reading.
During Reading
7. Ask: Do I understand what
I read?
8. Use fix-up strategies.
9. Reflect on what you have read.
10. Identify important ideas and key events.
11. Make connections between the text and your
life.
12. Visualize what you are reading.
13. Find supporting evidence.
After Reading
14. React to what you have read.
15. Summarize what you remember.
16. Connect what you read to what you know.
