Winter 6-12 Band and Chorus Concert January 15th, 6:30PM SV Middle School Cafetorium
SMCC comes to the Sacopee Valley School District
In partnership with MSAD #55 the Southern Maine Community College will offer the following classes at the Sacopee Valley Middle School beginning in January of 2009. The classes will be held weekly beginning on Saturday January 17th from 9 - 11:45 beginning. The classes are open to students, staff and community members. Introduction to Business ( Bus 105) A rigorous examination of the key decisions business organizations face with a particular emphasis on the role that technology and society play when making those decisions. ~Students examine numerous situations involving products, processes, and markets to familiarize themselves with the choices facing businesses and their employees.
English Composition ( Eng 111) Introduction to college writing across the curriculum. ~An emphasis will be placed upon writing as a process of creating first drafts, then revising, rewriting, and proofreading for accuracy and succinctness of written expression.

On December 3rd the Commissioner of Education announced that school districts across the state of Maine would have to absorb $27 million in cuts as part of the Governorís curtailment plan. As a result of this curtailment MSAD #55 will receive $165,492 less in subsidy during this current school year and the outlook for the following year does not look any brighter. As a district we have considered many options in order to achieve the necessary cost savings in our budget to offset the subsidy reduction....More...

m Do you have a child that will be entering Kindergarten through Grade 8?
m Is your family living in the town of Baldwin, Cornish, Hiram, Parsonsfield, or Porter?
Please come to the Superintendent’s Office at the Sacopee Valley Middle School, 137 South Hiram Road, Hiram, ME 04041 to register your child. Please bring your child’s immunization records, a certified state birth certificate, and the name of the previous school.
